Let´s talk about class

Bei allen Versuchen und Bemühungen, die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Bedürfnisse und den Schutz gesellschatlicher Minderheiten und Schieflagen zu lenken, ist die Bereitschaft, die sehr unterschiedliche Verteilung von Besitz zum Thema des filmischen Erzählens zu machen die, die am wenigsten gefördert wird. Warum das so ist, soll Teil dieses Seminars sein. Aber vor allem geht es darum, den Blick zu schärfen für gesellschaftliche Klassenunterschiede und das darin enthaltene Potential für filmische Stoffe. Das Seminar ist ein Angebot an Studierende, die schon in der Entwicklung begriffene Projekte auf diesen Aspekt hin beleuchten und bearbeiten wollen, sowie Studierende, die neue Stoffe für Filme, Serien und andere filmische Erzählformate entwickeln wollen, in denen unterschiedliche Besitzverhältnisse eine wesentliche Rolle spielen. Wir werden uns im Zwei-Wochen-Rhythmus treffen und in der Gruppe die Entwicklung der eigenen Stoffe und die Stoffe der anderen zugewandt und kritisch diskutieren, aber natürlich auch bestehende filmische Erzählungen analysieren, die sich mit der Klassenthematik befassen.

Why this is so will be part of this seminar. But above all, it is about sharpening the eye for social class differences and the potential they contain for cinematic material. The seminar is an offer to students who want to examine and work on projects already in development with regard to this aspect, as well as students who want to develop new material for films, series and other cinematic narrative formats in which different property relations play an essential role. We will meet every two weeks and discuss the development of our own material and the material of others in an approachable and critical way in the group, but of course also analyse existing cinematic narratives that deal with the class issue.
