Julia Scher, Predictive Engineering3, 2016. Installation at SFMOMA
Lecture
March 29, 2017, 6:00PM–7:00PM, Price Auditorium
Art Institute Chicago

For the past 30 years, Julia Scher has created media-based work about surveillance and electronic security and the power that inhabits these systems.

In the publication Always There, a survey of her work, Andrew Ross described Scher as “a wholly political artist with a keen eye and ear for the iconography and poetry of power, especially when it crystallizes into the operational jargon of aggressive intelligence systems.”
