Im Seminar Live-Regie wollen wir die diversen Möglichkeiten der Live-Produktion ausloten. Performatives, dokumentarisches und fiktionales Arbeiten im Studio. Dazu stehen neben 3 Studio-Kameras, Lichtbühne, Bildregie, Live-Schnitt- und Bildtechnik zur Verfügung. Die technischen Grundlagen, sowie Livestreams von Konzerten oder Bühnenshows stehen im Mittelpunkt unserer gemeinsamen Arbeit. Hierzu gibt es Kooperationen mit der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln – bei der klassische Musikproduktionen begleitet werden – und dem Schauspielzentrum – bei dem Liveaufzeichnungen von Theaterproduktionen, Video als Szenenbild, Video als Licht stattfinden. Live Regie ist Teamarbeit. Wir arbeiten rotierend in den Bereichen Kamera, Schnitt. Regie und Redaktion.

The seminar reflects on documentary artistic practices in relation to the "non-representability of the completely different" (M. Poos). Who or what do we seek and recognize “in the other” (place, culture, individual), if not ultimately only ourselves? Who speaks about or with whom and from what relationship with the other? We develop participation and representation strategies that open up the possibility of overcoming the limits of the limitation of our own self. Students are invited to discuss ideas, themes, approaches and developing material from their own ongoing projects at any phase.

Minga (mink'a in Quechua), "to ask for help by promising something", is a pre-Columbian tradition of community or collective volunteering for social or reciprocal purposes that can be found today in several Latin American countries. For one week, together with Argentine artist Nicolás Rodríguez, we will explore the public space inside and outside the KHM buildings as a social landscape through artistic practices. About the artist: Nicolás Rodríguez (1986) In his artistic work he proposes crossings on themes related to origin, time and materiality, starting from the affective and combining his own and familiar historical imaginaries, focusing on manual work as a method of exploration "My work is an exploration between materials, ideas and everyday practices. I am interested in the relationships that exist between ways of acting and thinking and the resulting consequences, as well as the meaning given in a particular context.
