Adam Harvey will present in the serial lecture "Medienkatastrophe" research and artwork about exploiting face detection and military thermal imaging devices. Lecture in English.
Harvey will discuss the pros and cons of countersurveillance as a 
response and explore new trends in visual surveillance technologies. This
 talk will aim to open questions for debate about how we will adapt to a
 world that increasingly uses computer vision, data analysis, and 
surveillance as the core of social interactions.
Adam Harvey
 is an artist and independent researcher based in Berlin. His work 
includes developing camouflage from face detection (CV Dazzle, 2010), 
anti-drone garments (Stealth Wear, 2013), a faraday cage phone case (OFF
 Pocket, 2013), and a WiFi geolocation emulator (SKYLIFT, 2016). Harvey's
 multidisciplinary approach to hacking surveillance technologies has 
been noted by the New York Times, V&A Museum, Der Spiegel, BBC, and 
even included in a classified intelligence briefing.
