/ FQW / frequenzwechsel

Don't Denoise!

tuba ventosa for COMPUTING MUSIC VIII
Frequenzwechsel performing on November 11th 2012, 7:30 pm - at Kunst-Station Sankt Peter Cologne
Tuba ventosa was developed for the organs of the Kunst-Station Sankt Peter in Cologne. The 23 minutes long sound and image composition is based on an audiovisual feedback via video, microphone and organ. The process is initiated by clapping hands, this impulse starts a video feedback by a randomly generated pattern. An edge detection algorithm modulates this into visual turbulence that controls the organs. Six different points of the video image generate data to translate the visual into midi data and correspondingly into notes. These, like the visual component, are structured in the compositional sequence by presets. The selection from the 120 possible registers, tempos and the character of the visual process are stored in these presets. The acoustic development via the microphone influences the parameters of the video feedback and thus the development of the visual turbulences. This complex system is controlled live on the basis of acoustic and visual programming and is accompanied by an analog application at the wind throttle. The video, generated in real time, is projected onto the floor in the centre of the church and into the vault of the aisle. A third projection, half overlapping the floor projection thrown onto the side wall, completes the performance space. Video recordings of the glass surfaces of the church superimposed by a visualization of the acoustic intensity of the sound event form a horizontal constant, dissolved in the top and bottom.

Verballung IV for Noarte Paesemuseo
Frequenzwechsel performing on December 20th 2014, 7 pm - Piazza San Sepolcro, Cagliari
A public performance/urban intervention by Frequenzwechsel based on a field work of 4 days through the city of Cagliari. The performance/intervention can be understood as a temporary polycentric sculpture made by the movement of different modules of action. The sculpture is going to take shape over some hours of a performance made of movements, recordings and evaluation of topographic, visual, sonic data —going to be recorded, transmitted, received. The city of Cagliari has been shown as an agglomeration of variable nodes. Locative data in particular (GPS coordinates) are used as a basic structure of this virtual sculpture with its center in Piazza San Sepolcro.
