Installation setup
In the middle of the exibition
space four translucent canvases are placed. Each has a height of about
2.5 m and a width of about 3 m. They are positioned to
separate a rectangular space from the surrounding room. At the edges
the observer can peek inside. One edge is open to let the visitors enter.
The inside space of about 3 m x 3 m is the area where the robotic
elements are moving and where they can be influenced by the visitors.
This setup provides an inside
and outsite perspective. An observer from the outside sees the movement
of light, shadow and inside visitors. But only if he enters the inner
rectangle the core of the installation is revealed, the elements, their
movment and reaction patterns. The observer gets part of the whole.
The lights are placed inside the
inner space. They are mounted on different heights with different
positons. At the bottom of one or two canvases are cuboid elements for
sitting down an as fixation for the lights.
