In this Nocturne, Mark Traye will present recent work with a focus on the sonic exploration of resonant objects and spaces, along with pieces made from feedback networks. Mark Trayle is a California based musician and sound artist working in a variety of media including live electronic music, improvisation, installations,
and compositions for chamber ensembles. Recent venues for performances and exhibitions include the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, t-u-b-e, DEAF ‘04, Resistance Fluctuations, net_condition, Pro Musica Nova, Format5 and Inventionen 2004.
His music has been performed by Champs D’Action, Ensemble Zwischentoene, Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin and Ensemble Mosaik. Trayle’s many collaborators include Koji Asano, David Behrman, Nels Cline, Vinny Golia, Jason Kahn, Ulrich Krieger, Toshimaru Nakamura, Andrea Parkins, Wadada Leo Smith, and
as a member of The Hub, Alvin Curran and the Rova Saxophone
Quartet.
