*Russia, for example, being disposed on the way from Europe to Asia, historically became one of the most specific spaces for the cultural connections. It remains subtaly tied to the historical pasts, under the influence of numerous native cultures, which essentially are not so well known to the Europeans, being excluded from Western vision of Eastern-European modernity. Before the Visantian period numerous of small and big nationalities, occupying the territory of the former Soviet Union, had created a complicated multi-cultural substrate for the future ethnic transformations.
