Digitale 1995 presents exceptional creators of the computer generated motion picture, the Digital Auteurs, modern-day alchemists who develop their own technology as accomplice to cinematic expression.
From across the globe, artists, engineers, filmmakers and cinema utopians - the up and coming as well the veterans of cinema's development, will gather in Cologne for a series of investigations remixing the elements of film, video, and cinema through the digital lens. The audience is invited to a three day Salon of illustrated ruminations to join in as the filmmakers debate the future of cinema. Each night will be illuminated by films, presented to the public by the director who will discuss the film's development.
The only entry fee for this event is the willingness to take risks, to look
directly in to the heart of art and the work with illusions.
Digitale 1995 is a collaboration of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne,
and the State Chancellery of the Land North Rhine-Westphalia, Duesseldorf.
