Description of the recording place
The location of recording was choosen in the district Tschinas in the region
Taschkent. The city Tschinkent, the earliest name is Tschinatschkent (=
Chinese town) and is connected with the name of China. There are some scientific
research from three Archaeologists named Masson, Gregorieva and Usmanova. The town
was founded in the 6. and 7. Century, and in the Middle Ages it was a central
place on the river Sirdaria, where caravans came along the silkroute
from China to Rome. In the 10. Century the town was very big and a borderland
between agricultural and stock-farming regions. But the historians notice that the
population in the 12. Century already lived in tents. This tents give a reference
that stock-farming was settled there. And even today the region Tschinas is still
a stock-farming region
A lof of silver coins were found here from the 10. Century (the greatest finding
was about 13 kilo). Tschinatschkent was completely destroyed at the time of the
Mongols and never rebuilt. The region Tschinas has about 100.000 inhabitants.
Our camera was set up at the roof of a house in "Kischlak Jalamus"
(the small village named Jalamus), a railway line passes the town Tschinas in the
South direction and a highway in the direction to Samarkand. At the hoizontal line
of the recording the ground of Irak and Afghanistan beginns
Description of the location
The object is the roof of a house, in opposite to a farm, because we should
show the life in a village in Tschinas. On the street in the background is
a railway line

The main thing is the life in a small village

This day the "Kolchosniki" workers of the kolkhoz have cleaned up their farm,
taken a rest and made a rest
What can be heard
Here you can hear different noise, cows low, sheeps, birds singing, the noise of cars
and trains

Personal Commentary
As we got the instruction very late, we had to do the recording at this location,
which does not show a lot of Uzbekistan. We should have done the recording in
the "pearl" town of Uzbekistan, Samarkand
