Das Projekt beschäftigt sich mit den Themen Robotik, Tanz und Sound.
Interessant finde ich, dass eine Maschine Klang oder Geräusche nicht fühlt, sondern in meinem Fall in einen Automatismus umsetzt. Für mich ist es besonders wichtig, Geräusche zu benutzen, die aus menschlicher Sicht untanzbar sind. Tänze basieren immer auf einem Raster, einer genauen Vorgabe. Diese Vorgaben sollen verwendet werden, um maschinelle Systeme zu bewegen. Die Steuerung -oder besser gesagt- die Initialzündung, wird durch ein Relay erzeugt, dass anstelle eines Metronoms eingesetzt wird. Ein Metronom, der eigentliche Taktgeber, ertönt aber nur in einem bestimmten Intervall von 30 Sekunden. Die Roboter reagieren somit alle 30 Sekunden auf das Metronom und fangen an sich zu bewegen. Für die Roboter gibt es keine Differenzierung unter den auf sie einwirkenden Geräuschquellen. Somit werden sie auch von den Geräuschen, die die anderen Roboter durch ihre Bewegungen erzeugen, weiter bewegt. Aus der vermeintlich untanzbaren Geräuschkulisse entsteht somit eine Kettenreaktion, die die Roboter autark in Bewegung hält. Aufbau: Die Roboter bewegen sich auf einer Fläche von 127cm auf 127cm. Auf dieser Fläche wird ein Fotopapier ausgelegt, auf dem sich die Roboter bewegen. Jeder Roboter besitzt zwei LED 's, die senkrecht nach unten leuchten und bei Bewegungen der Roboter das Fotopapier belichten. |
I think its fascinating how humans select dancing steps to the music they are listening to. However machines can´t feel noise or sound. The machine is just reacting by his own automatism. Dances are always based on a special pattern, a special sequence. I would like to use these sequences for a machine to get them moving. The startup noise is a relay with a short impulse. The relay works like a metronom. I am using a 30 sec interval. So the robots start to move every 30 sec.
There is no difference for the robots in noise. Therefore the robots are also moving by the sound of the noise they are producing out of their movements. So the robots are feeding themselves with noise. It s very interesting for me to see what happens, when there is an interaction with noise and different movements. Project: Iam using LED lights and photopaper to track their movements and draw with light. Iam exposing the photopaper in a photolab. The final artwork is an installation, where you can see the robots dancing on a table in a darkness room. The table is about 1,27m * 1,27m. I also would like to show the artwork the robots draw with light as a photograph. I think the best way to explain how the project works is to begin with showing pictures. I also made a videoclip of the movements. |
