Lab — The Yearbook of the Academy of Media Art Cologne (1994–2005)
Produced in cooperation with the Cologne publisher Walther König, with the yearbook the KHM and the Friends of KHM initiated a publication that provided a platform for interrogating the challenges facing the arts in an epoch of technological, social, and scientific change, both from a topical and a historical perspective. The concept was by Hans Ulrich Reck und Siegfried Zielinski, who also edited the volumes in cooperation with others, including Wolfgang Ernst, Thomas Hensel, and Nils Röller. Each Lab presented around thirty contributions of texts and artworks: analytical and poetic, artistic and scientific, literary and philosophical items. An appendix chronicled that year’s public presentations, events, awards, and included personalia of Academy members.lab - yearbook
